Dr. Kriti Bhagat is the owner and founder of Eyediology Vision. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. During her training, she received in-depth training in specialty contact lenses and the treatment and management of ocular diseases such as keratoconus, macular degeneration, and glaucoma.
After graduation, Dr. Bhagat completed a corneal disease and contact lens residency at The Eye Institute at Salus University. During her residency, she was able to gain experience in managing patients with keratoconus, corneal transplants, post-RK, cataracts, mild to severe dry eyes, and glaucoma. She is also expertly trained in fitting specialty contact lenses, with multiple certificates and extra years of training. Dr. Bhagat has a passion for fitting gas-permeable contact lenses, especially scleral contact lenses and orthokeratology lenses (used for myopia management). Being in close proximity to strong talent in arts and theater in Rhode Island, Dr. Bhagat designs and fits colored, tinted and custom contact lenses for plays and theater, including Halloween contact lenses.
Dr. Bhagat has been the recipient of many awards and accolades such as the Outstanding Professor of the Year 2017 and Clinical Excellence in the Field of Gas Permeable Contact Lens Award from the GPLI. Dr. Kriti Bhagat was recently ranked (#121) on Newsweek’s America’s Best Eye Doctor 2022 list! She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO). Dr. Bhagat is a consultant who lectures nationally and internationally to students and colleagues teaching them about new technology in specialty contact lenses, dry eye, and keratoconus. She has continued her passion for teaching by being an adjunct professor at Salus University. Dr. Bhagat is a member of the board of the Rhode Island Optometric Association and volunteers her time with many different professional organizations including the American Academy of Optometry.
One might ask what Dr. Bhagat likes to do in her spare time. She is an avid reader and a caffeine connoisseur. Taking these two activities, she started a Bookstagram account on Instagram called @Brew.Reading. This has led her to take on part-time editing projects with early-release novels, especially in the historical fiction genre. Unless you want to hear a novel, don’t ask her about her current reading list.
Dr. Bhagat currently resides in Providence, RI, and is a native of New England. She is an active member of the local community and is pleased to be able to give back.
